Life Coaching
The latest trend for many is to use a life coach. A life coach is like a consultant in a certain area of your life that you can turn to for advice and help in dealing with a situation or overcoming a fear and so on.
If you consider yourself a sensible person with a lot of good ideas and someone who likes to talk and help others, maybe you should consider training yourself or going to classes to become a life coach. Life coaches can be general about every day life or specific to certain areas. If your expertise is business you can sell yourself as a business life coach who helps ailing businesses or businesses that are just starting up. A life coach is very similar to a management consultant, a lot of what is needed is just common sense and to be objective.
If you fancy becoming a life coach with a specialty on health and wellness then you really just need to give advice on diet and sport and be at the end of a phone or go visit when one of your patients is having a crisis. A relationship life coach will listen to both sides and try and give advice on how to make a relationship better and get over any differences that there may be.
There is no formal training to become a life coach although institutions are now setting themselves up as learning establishments for life coaching. If you are a thoughtful person, who likes listening and giving out advice then maybe life coaching is for you. You can easily set yourself up from home as a life coach and offer your services, at first maybe you can do a few sessions for free to get a good name for yourself and as your experience grows and your name becomes well known, you can start charging. Many of us need guidance but don’t want to go to the scary professionals as that is really admitting that something is wrong, by going to a life coach, you are meeting in the middle.

Thank you for the coverage on Life Coaches and in particular Wellness Coaching. I am a certified wellness coach and owner of The WellCenter Group, LLC and absolutley love what I do!
I do want to point out that while certification or formal education in coaching is not currently required to practice to date, being that it is a relatively new profession, there are professional coaches that are certified by accredited coaching programs. These programs have strict requirements to become and remain certified. This is an important first step in ensuring the credibility of not only your business but the profession itself.
There are also many universities and colleges, including Harvard, now introducing the coaching concepts into many courses and possibly even an education track. There are many valuable resources on the web for finding information about becoming certified as well as finding mentor coaches who help coaches that are new to the business.
Again, thanks for the spotlight!
