After my washing machine recently packed up on me, I suddenly came up with a great idea for a job from home. Why not offer to do people’s washing for them? Not quite a launderette but similar. You can offer for people to drop their washing off in the morning on their way to work and pick it up in the afternoon.

Do you know how frustrating it is when your washing machine breaks down? We lead crazy lives and fitting a wash in while you are running around is often quite a chore and then when the machine is broken and you have to take your washing to a launderette the chore becomes a nightmare. This led me to start thinking about a great home job idea.

If you have a large washing machine why not offer washing services from your home? You can offer to pick up at certain times of the day or allow drops offs at your home. Make sure that you don’t take too much that you can’t turn it around in 8 hours. Do the washing, dry it and even offer an ironing service as an extra. Some people will jump at the idea of not doing their own washing or taking it to someone else to do. Others might need it once in a while when they have a lot to do or their machine is being repaired.

If you think about it, doing other peoples washing in the comfort of your own home is an easy money maker. Make sure you charge less than the local launderette by a few cents and always fold neatly and present the finished goods nicely, your customers will roll in and you can get yourself a nice little earner for not doing much!
